John 8:12(KJV) 12Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Jesus never spoke for God.
He wasn't and isn't a messenger.
He is the Message. This is so because He is Deity. He is deity speaking for Himself. Hence is the The Word, properly so called.
John 1:1-(KJV) [In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.]
He never said "thus saith The Lord ".
He is The Lord. John 1:14(KJV) 14[And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.]
He is the incarnate Word. God in man .
Just as Isaiah prophesied
Isaiah 7:14(KJV) 14[Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.]
He is the message of the Prophets.
Luke 24:25-26 (KJV) 25[Then he said unto them, ] O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
26Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
27[And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.]
The scriptures are prophecies about Him.
John 5:39(KJV) 39Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. The Scriptures testify of Him.
The entire body of scriptures converges on Him.
It's "Christocentric ".
Christ-centered. Hence the writer of Hebrews counsels to look away from the Patriarchs and look to Jesus.
Hebrews 12:1-2 (KJV) [Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset ] us[, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,]
2[Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of ] our[ faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.]
They also looked unto Him. He is the Author of their Faith. Same faith perfected for us and in us .The New Creation.
If Christ is found in the testimony of the Old Testament, we ought to find out. Since He is light, we will surely find Him in prophecies and Promises made by God concerning Direction and guidance under and during the Old covenant.
He fulfils the Promises made.
2 Corinthians 1:18-20 (KJV) 18[But ] as[ God ] is[ true, our word toward you was not yea and nay.]
19[For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, ] even[ by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea.]
20[For all the promises of God in him ] are[ yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.] He is Yes of the promises.
Yes means amen. Fulfilled. Done. Accomplished.
Romans 15:8-9 (KJV) 8[Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises ] made[ unto the fathers:] 9[And that the Gentiles might glorify God for ] his[ mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.]
He establishes all the promises made.
He brings them to reality.
Galatians 3:16(KJV) 16[Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.]
The Abrahamic promises were His. Ours by identification .By Faith.
Galatians 3:29 (KJV) 29[And if ye ] be[ Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.] Let's view such promises concerning leading and direction.
Psalm 32:KJV) 8[I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.]
We are instructed and taught of The Lord, we have absolute guidance.
His sight is our light.
Psalm 37:23-(KJV) 23[The steps of a ] good[ man are ordered by the ] Lord[: and he delighteth in his way.] The good man is a righteous man
We are made righteous by faith in Him (Rom5:1,17)
Our steps are ordered. Ordered means put in proper place.
Psalm 37:24-(KJV) 24[Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the ] Lord[ upholdeth ] him with[ his hand.] Even when we make errors by walking in the senses, He will yet uphold us.
He never leaves us because we stray.
Like the Good Shepherd, which He is, He stays with us.
Hebrews 13:5-6 (KJV) 5?.. for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.] He is always holding on to us. He will uphold us. We will never be utterly cast down.
Believers are held by Him.
Psalm 37:31(KJV) 31[The law of his God ] is[ in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.] Glory! His law is in our heart.
He put it there, we didn't.
Hebrews 8:10-11 (KJV) 10[For this ] is[ the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:]
11[And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.]
It's done In Him. Hence we know Him.
Our steps shall not slide! Amen.
Isaiah 48:17 (KJV) 17[Thus saith the ] Lord[, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I ] am[ the ] Lord[ thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way ] that[ thou shouldest go.]
He teaches us to succeed . To prosper. To be accomplished .
He leads us into fulfilment .
Ours is to take note. Recognize it. We aren't called to impress God. We are called to follow His leading.
This happens ONLY when we recognize what He has done in Christ.
Philemon 1:6(KJV) 6That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.
In Him we have direction
. He is our wisdom.
1 Corinthians 1:30(KJV) 30[But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:] We have absolute Light in Him.
He gives us insight and foresight and helps us make proper use of our hindsight. We have left the path of trials ,theories and experiments.
We function in His light. We depend on His sufficiency .
His Sight is our way to Go!
We continue ... Blessed? His sight is my light, I have the promise of guidance and direction fulfilled in Christ.
I am the man led in Life in Christ. Jesus is Lord, We win!
