Right and wrong thinking 3

Pastor Onayinka Olusegun teaches

"Wrong thinking produces wrong believing
Job typified this in his words
Job 2:10 KJV
[10] But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.
Just like many Old Testament folks ,he knew next to nothing about the devil .
He spoke presumptuously .
Job 42:4 You ask how I dare question your wisdom when I am so very ignorant. I talked about things I did not understand, about marvels too great for me to know.
5: In the past I knew only what others had told me, but now I have seen you with my own eyes.( NLT)
Job had lived in presumption
Job 1:5 KJV
[5] And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.
He lived in this presumptuous fear of God being a sin hunter
Job 3:25-26 KJV
[25] For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.
[26] I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came.
Such fearful living .
He couldn't discern Satan ,like many or all Old Testament folks including kings and prophets
Jesus told us how limited they were
Matthew 13:17 KJV
[17] For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them ; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
Even the four gospels had more light than they did
Luke 10:24 KJV
[24] For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them ; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
Yet the epistles was the height of all truth
John 16:12-13 KJV
[12] I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
[13] Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
We must seek to know and have precise understanding .
That said
We have seen how Pauls gospel never gave permission for sickness and disease .
Let's see how he relates with it .
Acts 28:8-9 KJV
[8] And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.
9] So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:
He was in captivity here ,yet didn't say " well ,God did this for his glory "
He healed the sick and many more who came just as in acts 14,19 etc
In his epistles he taught sickness as foreign and strange to the believer
1 Corinthians 11:30-31 KJV
[30] For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
[31] For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
He obviously didn't tell Them" they were in Gods will while sick or Diseased ".
Philippians 2:25-30 KJV
[25] Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.
[26] For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick.
[27] For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.
[28] I sent him therefore the more carefully, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.
[29] Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation:
[30] Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.
This was a fellow apostle who fell ill as a result of hard ministry labour ,and paul says God had compassion I.e His power worked not " God made him sick to fulfill purpose "
Sickness being healed was God on the scene ,paul counseled common sense to be applied afterwards
Just as Jesus did earlier after raising jarius daughter from the dead
Mark 5:43 KJV
[43] And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.
Food not prayer else she dies again .
He spoke with Timothy too
1 Timothy 5:23 KJV
[23] Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities.
Another apostle fell ill and paul didn't say " glory to God for his mysterious purpose "
He recommended a natural means .
It's no brainier ,for it to be often ,it implied Timothy had to do something in the natural .
Natural cures doesn't kill Gods power .
This has been the error of many .
On two ocassions in scriptures we saw both Gods power and natural means applied to minister healing
After Jesus had been dishonored and couldn't do much
He sent his disciples out
Mark 6:7 KJV
[7] And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits;
He gave them authority to use his name
Mark 6:13 KJV
[13] And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them .
They used oil .
This was a natural means of cure .
They combined both .
Jesus mentioned this in a parable
Luke 10:34 KJV
[34] And went to him , and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
Same original word .
Medicinal .Within Jewish and oriental communities .
Used for preserving bodies too
Mark 16:1 KJV
[1] And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.
This isn't the same oil for consecration ,they are different ,
Different constitution .
James taught this later
James 5:14-15 KJV
[14] Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15] And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
It's the prayer of faith that saves the sick not the oil.
Just as in marks account too.
However, the natural means here aren't evil ,they aid the recovery process just like food does .
I never teach against natural cures ,they never hinder Gods power
If you use toothpaste and body creams then you shouldn't have issues here .
But we trust Gods power not natural cures .
That said
Pauls letter to Timothy was personal .
We don't have intricate details .
1 Timothy 5:22 is private .
Like other things we can't act upon in his letters
For example
2 Timothy 4:13 KJV
[13] The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee , and the books, but especially the parchments.
We can't do this ,it's not about spiritual growth
However it helps us see paul had writings ,books etc.
Same as what he told Timothy about Timothy's stomach not all believers stomachs !
Paul never inferred sickness as that which is compatible with the faith .
Infact he acted swiftly about it .
2 Timothy 4:20 KJV
[20] Erastus abode at Corinth: but Trophimus have I left at Miletum sick.
Again ,the term used here meant he left him in a very unfortunate circumstance .
He never glorified God in anyone's sickness !
Some have mischievously said "it meant the gifts of healing had ceased '
Ridiculous and preposterous .
It's like saying " Gods Angels or His deliverance ceased because the apostles were captured !"
Haba
Yet they were delivered several times.
2 Timothy 4:17-18 KJV
[17] Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
[18] And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Falling ill doesn't invalidate Gods power,it's only proves the body is mortal but healing further asserts Gods power over the body's frailty !
We should stop reading terrible meanings to Pauls expressions and also about circumstances concerning characters in scriptures ,
Healing is ours yesterday today and forever
Inspite of what happens to any preacher or bible character ,the scriptures can't be broken to attest to their experiences .
If you have any pains now or sickness ,recieve healing in Jesus name .
You are healed now !
I call you blessed ,
Jesus is Lord,we win"

In the midst of storms And all is cold and Choky When the storm is severely harsh Have faith in God   When all hope seems lost And there is no one to turn to When there is darkness all around Your God is able   When friends and family forsake And all has deserted None seems to care But Jesus Alone   Cast your cares upon Him For He alone cares for you Look unto Jesus, the author, And the finisher of your faith   He says peace be still That He has conquered the world Keep your gaze upon Him in patience Joy comes in the morning

Leading of The Spirit(Direction in a simple way)1

John 8:12(KJV) 12[Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, ] I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. Light is a gift in Christ. Jesus speaks of followers. Followers are believers .Disciples. We become disciples by the gospel . Matthew 28:18-20 (KJV) 18[And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, ] All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. The Narratives of Luke in the book of acts relates this well. It calls believers disciples and disciples are believers. Ephesians 5:8-9 (KJV) 8[For ye were sometimes darkness, but now ] are ye[ light in the Lord: walk as children of light:] 9[(For the fruit of the Spirit ] is[ in
